Zoom SMS Automation
Boost webinar attendance by using automatic SMS reminders and follow-ups that keep participants informed before and after the session.
What This Automation Does
This automation helps you get more people to show up to your webinar by sending timely SMS reminders before the session. After the webinar, it automatically follows up based on whether someone attended, so every registrant gets the right next message.
How It Works
When someone registers for an upcoming webinar, their contact record is created or updated in ActiveCampaign, and they’re tagged as a webinar registrant. The automation then starts a reminder sequence that sends an SMS 24 hours before and again 1 hour before the webinar. After the event, attendees receive a post-webinar follow-up, while non-attendees receive an SMS with the replay link to encourage replay clicks.
Automation Table
| Step | What Happens | Why It Matters |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | A new webinar registration triggers the automation | Ensures every registrant is included automatically |
| 2 | The contact is created or updated in ActiveCampaign | Keeps your contact list accurate and up to date |
| 3 | A webinar tag is added to the contact | Helps you track and organize webinar registrants |
| 4 | A reminder automation is started | Ensures reminders go out without manual work |
| 5 | An SMS reminder is sent 24 hours before the webinar | Gives people time to plan and improves attendance |
| 6 | An SMS reminder is sent 1 hour before the webinar | Catches people close to start time and reduces no-shows |
| 7 | After the webinar, follow-up is sent based on attendance (attended vs. not attended) | Sends the right next step to drive engagement or replay views |
