To ensure message delivery and avoid legal issues, all businesses, whether local or global, must adhere to national telecom guidelines for SMS. This includes setting up Sender IDs, obtaining opt-in permissions, and following restricted hours for promotional messaging.
Local SMS Regulations
SMS Regulations for Local Companies
- Sender ID in all Chinese networks is replaced by a Static Long Code.
- The SMS body text and the client’s signature must be registered before sending messages.
- No registration fee is required.
- The setup time for registration is 2 working days.
- Required information's are: Signature, SMS Content example, Company Name, Company URL.
- Due to the Content regulation, sex, gamble, political and religious SMS are strictly forbidden.
International SMS Regulations

for International Companies
For Hong Kong or Macau companies, registration is not allowed.
For international companies that has a Hong Kong or Macau entity, registration is not allowed.
For international companies that do not have a local china entity, registration is not allowed.
For international companies that have a local entity and China business license, registration is possible.
Please note that the legal representative mentioned in the license must be a China national.
Information such as ID number and contact number of the legal representative will also need to be provided as this is required by the China operators when they review the registration request.
